We love this jaw-dropping sculpture that blends art with science and technology. Designed by New York based SOFTlab for IBM, the sculpture celebrates Gaudi’s work and Barcelona’s architecture. The first thinking sculpture debuted at MWC 2017 in Barcelona earlier this year. It utilises IBM’s AI platform Watson, including Visual Recognition and AlchemyLanguage which helped feed and analyse every detail of Gaudi’s unique style. Watson’s Tone Analyzer was also used to identify and interpret the emotional tone of related tweets made on social media, automatically manipulating the sculpture’s movement in response.
